Drop in a link, a screenshot, a PDF, a voice note, a whole chat. Sift works out what each one is and sorts it for you. Then just ask it things.
No credit card. No setup. No folders, ever.

Sift reads it, works out what it actually is, and keeps the useful part. You never pick a folder.

So onboarding starts with one save?
Yes — one save, then the thread forms. No tour.

Worktop runs the full 2.4m with no joint. The salvaged brass pulls set the tone, so every other finish follows them.
Lime plaster above the tiles, not paint.
Lighting decided separately.
6 / 12PDFs, Word files and decks open here, with the text pulled out so one passage can be cited.
Anything carrying a location lands on one shared map with the rest of them.
Sift pulls the palette out of what you save, so a mood becomes searchable.
=SUM(C2:C4)Cells stay cells, formulas included, so a budget still reads as a budget instead of a blob of text.
“…the thing I keep coming back to is that nobody actually files anything, so the filing has to happen on its own…”

Why you kept it“the argument against filing”Saved in MarchLink · in To readOne line in your own words is what makes a save findable in six weeks. The title never was.
Type what you half remember. Sift searches by meaning, so you do not need the title, the app it came from, or the day you saved it.

Decided 6 weeks ago · Claude session 41Point Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor at a board and they can read the whole thing. Ask one of them to write something back and it lands on the board with its name on it.
Redirect URIs were the blocker on desktop. Device code keeps the CLI out of the browser, so there is nothing to register per install.
Entirely optional — Sift is perfectly happy on its own. Read-only when you connect it, and if you want an agent to write back you hand it one board at a time.
Every decision, spec, screenshot and chat in one place, so tomorrow’s session starts where today’s finished.
A trip, a kitchen, a moodboard, a reading pile. Drop things in as you find them and let Sift keep the shape of it.
Save something you would otherwise lose. The board builds itself from there, and it gets more useful the more you throw at it.
Made by people who kept losing things.
